Can I manage marching band and all Honors 1 or Honors classes?
Yes! In fact, studies show that a student's GPA is higher when a student participates in a performing arts activity. Many band members find themselves in this exact situation. Students in these levels who participate in marching band develop an amazing work ethic and learn time management that will help them excel in future years. Other band members will always be available to give advice on this subject or to tutor students having a difficult time.
Are auditions required to join marching band and color guard?

No auditions are necessary. Everyone and anyone is welcome to join, no matter what skill set they may have. We provide substantial training.
How will I know if marching band is for me?
You'll never know unless you TRY IT! Marching band involves both physical and mental aspects and is an amazing way to make friends from all grades before your first year of high school. Once you successfully complete two marching band seasons, you gain a varsity letter. In addition, 4 years of marching band looks great on a college resume! College recruiters know the level of involvement and commitment that competitive marching band requires.
What is Band Camp?
Band camp occurs over 9 days in August when most of the learning of the field show is done. This time is vital to the marching season because band members learn their music and their visual show. The whole thing is put together with everyone performing at the same time. It is also a time that allows members to get to know each other and friendships are made. New band members begin the school year having made many new friends from all grades. This often makes the transition into Feehan easier for new freshmen.

Does the marching band perform at any Feehan events or local events?

Yes, we perform at all home varsity football games, Homecoming, and playoff games that don't conflict with competitions. We also perform at freshman orientation, Open House, school rallies and the Memorial Day Parade in Attleboro.
What are competitions?
The Bishop Feehan Marching Band and Color Guard is an Open Class Division I competitive band that travels throughout southeastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. We currently compete in the United States Band Association. Past USBands National Championship competitions have taken us to MetLife Stadium in Rutherford, NJ (2016, 2017), Allentown, PA (2008, 2010, 2011), and Annapolis, MD (2012). These competitions are where all of your hard work pays off. And it’s a lot of fun, too!
